Who we are
Orbit Hop ("we", "us") is a free one-tap arcade game and website. You can reach us at orbithop@protonmail.com.
What stays on your device
Your browser stores your display name, settings (sound, music, voice, vibration), progress (stars, Dark Matter, skins, trails, worlds, Journey stars, streak, best scores) and a random player ID with a secret key. This is saved in your browser's local storage and never leaves your device unless you use the online features below. If you clear your browser data, this information is removed and cannot be restored by us.
What we collect when you use online features
- Faction War: your random player ID, display name, chosen faction, points earned per day and run times.
- Live Duel: your display name, the room code, and live game progress (score, position, whether you are still alive). Duel rooms are deleted after about a day.
- Share links: when you share a score we store your display name, the mode, the course number, your score and your ghost replay so a friend can open the link. We also store your IP address with the link to limit abuse. These records are deleted after about 60 days.
- Hosting logs: our host, Cloudflare, processes technical data such as your IP address and browser type to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.
How we use it
To run the game's online features, prevent cheating and abuse, and fix problems. We do not sell your data and we do not show ads.
Who can see it
Your display name and scores are visible to the people you play against or share links with. We share data with service providers only as needed to run the game (for example Cloudflare), or if the law requires it.
Cookies and similar technology
We do not use cookies to track you. We use local storage and a service worker cache so the game remembers your progress and works offline.
Children
Orbit Hop is for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The only thing a player enters is a display name, and we ask everyone not to use a real name. If you believe a child has shared personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices
- You can delete everything stored on your device by clearing the site's data in your browser.
- To have records on our server deleted, email us and tell us your display name and roughly when or where you used it (for example a room code or share link). Depending on where you live you may also have the right to ask what we hold, to correct it, or to object to its use. Email us and we will help.
Payments
Paid purchases are not available yet. If we add them, payments will be handled by a payment provider and we will not store your card details. We will update this page before that happens.
Security and where data is processed
We take reasonable steps to protect the data we hold, but no online service is perfectly secure. Data is processed on Cloudflare's global network, which may include countries other than your own.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update this page and the date above.
